winctcss - software-based CTCSS tone decoding

WinCTCSS v1.1 Alpha

My Pro-41 and Pro-79 scanner do not have CTCSS (often referred to by its "name brand" name PL, courtesy of Motorola) tone decoding. For this reason I went searching for a software solution. I found WinTone, but it had more features than I wanted, and also had not been updated in years. I have placed a copy of WinTone and its manual in the Links section of this page. In late 2005, I began working with DSP (Digital Signal Processing) on WinCTCSS, which simply attempts to detect the subaudible tone. I used examples from ReliSoft to accomplish some of the initial DSP routines, such as FFT.

The current available version is very much alpha, meaning it really hasn't been tested very much. I hope to add some options, such as logging, to it in the future.

*NEW v1.1* - v1.1 is a minor update that makes the window smaller and automatically hovers on top.

Requirements:
Microsoft .NET Framework, Windows 2000 or higher, sound card

* Windows 98 is not currently supported, but support is planned.
