winquack - audio ducking software solution for scanner listening

WinQuack v1.0 Alpha

I began listening to my scanner through my computer in order to record the audio. This was slightly difficult, however, because I wanted to listen to music at the same time. I did some research and found out about ducking. The basic idea is that when an input (in this case, sound from the microphone) reaches a certain level, the main audio is muted so the sound can be clearly heard.

WinQuack (a name-play on ducking.. get it?) is my attempt to implement a software solution to this problem. The current version is in the very beginning alpha stages, but it does work. You can set the threshold of the mic volume and set how low the wave volume (not the master volume) becomes. As an added bonus in v1.1, the application may be minimized to the system tray to operate inconspicuously.

Requirements:
Microsoft .NET Framework, Windows 98 or higher, sound card
